“Until, in her uttermost famine, she consumed herself.” -JRR Tolkien
The success of the new Hogwarts Legacy Addition on the PlayStation interestingly ignites the smoldering fire of JK Rowling. For 25 years people have been praising the work of the author, buying her books out of stock in stores, and selling out theaters to see her movies. She cultivated a fan base as dedicated and committed to her work as that of Star Wars, and Star Trek.
But in one stroke of her pen, all that good will vanished. It dried up like water dropped onto asphalt in the desert. It only took one comment about how perhaps the malformation of language regarding gender was getting slightly out of hand. (article) (article) Thats it. (Here is more on that group: Article.)
Her comments engendered a conflagration of rage and vitriol from her former fans online that would have burned computers down if it were possible. All those poor helpless fans of Harry Potter, where did they turn? Lord of the Rings? No, far too dignified and literate. Game of Thrones? No, far too depraved. Before all that Harry Potter fit the perfect niche of easily readable, fantastical, and nostalgic for millions of people. People used their Hogwarts house as an identifier and obsessed over their assigned wands that some online questionnaire yielded to them.
Truly, JK Rowling’s work was some of the most popular in all western society. (A Testament to our society’s failing literacy? Possibly, but that’s a topic for a different day.) But overnight she became the villain. The hordes of “ists” publicly harangued the author and all but called for her books to be taken out of print.
But all the white out in the world could not erase their love for her work. All their rage and fury could not undo the last 25 years of obsequious adoration. So, when Hogwarts Legacy was released, the fans hemmed and hawed, professing their profound struggle with supporting the author’s Intellectual Property. But if the game sales are any indication as to how people chose, it seems that in the end their moral objections did not stand much of a chance.
Nonetheless, as their money pours into Rowling’s bank account, social media flames with the fans expressing their hatred. The rapidity of JK Rowling’s fans dropping her, especially considering all her effort to pander to the gay/trans movement, is actually almost surprising.
It echoes the horror stories that emerged from the secret diaries of citizens in the Soviet Union, and China. Party members get arrested and sentenced to eternal periods in work camps, and as they are carted away, they scream: “it’s a mistake! I’m not the problem! I’m one of you!” And where are their friends? Condemning them for fear that they themselves will be next.
The ideology of the left is like a great bladed pendulum. They cranked it up and set it loose to swing across and decapitate their political enemies and “oppressors” but are blinded to it swinging back on themselves. It is a ravenously lustful monster that will never be satiated. When the people like you and I are dead, starved and frozen to death in the mines of their gulag they will be forced to find new “oppressors” to feed on, and they will feed on each other.
Already we see it. The LGBTQ acronym is so long that soon they will need an additional alphabet to cover all the “oppressed” groups. Soon there will be so many letters that everyone will belong under one and they will have no choice but to start cannibalizing each other.
Like Tolkien’s Mythological spider Ungoliant, they seek out things to consume. She consumed good things to satisfy her gluttonous lust, and when she ran out, “in her uttermost famine, she consumed herself.” This is what we see with JK Rowling. They are running out of “oppressors” and since they lied about who their original oppressors were, they can simply lie about new oppressors. Their lust will never be satisfied because it is a lie.
JK Rowling is finished. (Well obviously not, she’s still one of the wealthiest people in the world but you get the point.) but her former fans and activists are not. They will move on to the next person who breaches the party line, no matter how minutely, and they will crucify them next, and it will go on until everyone lives in constant fear of speaking, and everyone lies about everything. This is their utopia: a world where lies and fear dictate the actions of everyone.
Do not be afraid, and do not lie. When they try and force you to accept their lie, resist with all the strength available to you even to death. And when they try to instill fear: “Forth, and fear no darkness!”
