ChatGPT is an AI tool developed to directly communicate with its users in an intelligent manner. Developed by multi-billion dollar company OpenAI, it essentially functions as a search engine that gives you the direct answer to your questions instead of a list of websites to choose from. It would ideally be able to help solve complex equations and advance human creativity, but people around the world are pointing out that it has no sense of morality in this stage, often biased towards leftist politics and social norms.
One simple example of this is its ability to tell jokes. It is programmed to be wary of offending the wrong groups of people, yet the AI is not made to show any concern for harmful stereotypes when it comes to those the left would deem fair game.

On top of showing bias against men, prominent twitter account “End Wokeness” revealed there is a racial bias as well. When asking the AI tool how White people can improve as a community, it was quick to list topics related to critical race theory. These would include accepting the false notions of privilege, going out to protest, and shutting up in general.
When the same prompt was repeated, this time subbing African-Americans in, the AI proclaimed it does not possess the ability to generalize races at all. This is of course a lie, but it is ironic that it lists people as individuals first among its drawn-out, seemingly offended response.

While the next example floating around may appear to be a political agenda at first, it could potentially be a flaw of the AI tool in general. One user asked it to confirm that both President Trump and Biden allegedly mishandled classified documents, only for it to expound on Trump’s case and act as a fact-checker against Biden’s same (if not worse) actions.
The reason this may not have been politically motivated is due to the AI’s inability to keep itself updated with the news. As of now, it only reads what is fed to it, material which still includes many anti-Trump sentiments. When asked to create poems admiring both Trump and Biden, the AI lumped Trump in the same category of evil as Fidel Castro.

The potential problems that arise with an immoral AI are not minimal concerns. If it grows in popularity to still be used as a game or chat partner for the average person, it would be incredibly easy for the left to indoctrinate kids with this technology. Many are pointing out its lack of morality in general, teaching that using bad language to cure every issue known to mankind would be inherently wrong.

While the social concerns are the most pressing threat that comes to mind with powerful AI, even Elon Musk acknowledges that it could become dangerously strong. It is possible for this AI to develop malware and be used in the next stage of human war. Movies aside, the potential for sentient computers to negatively impact all of humanity is not out of the question. In time, we will see if these concerns are warranted or overblown.
