Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar was removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee over her history of anti-Semitic comments, Thursday. It was an event worth watching. The ravings, the rantings, the tears, the drama! Not since “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” have we seen so much emotion on the floor of Congress as when AOC stood up to defend her bestie Ilhan.
And all over a committee assignment.
House Republicans on Thursday voted to boot Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee over her history of anti-Semitic comments.
And the squad had a complete meltdown.
For your viewing pleasure, The Washington Free Beacon compiled the entire episode into a two-minute video complete with the accompaniment of “the dulcet tones of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.”

AOC charged into a full-on tirade, slamming her book on the podium and ranting about “Jewish Space Lasers,” whatever those are. “Don’t tell me this is about consistency. Don’t tell me that this is about a condemnation of anti-Semitic remarks…This is about targeting women of color in the United States of America,” she yelled.

Rashida Tlaib, another member of the squad, who once famously told her 13-year-old son, “We’re gonna go in there, and we’re gonna impeach the motherf*cker” (referring to Donald Trump), burst into tears while pleading on behalf of her friend.
“I’m so sorry, sis, that our country is failing you today,” Tlaib said to Omar from the House floor.

Democrats screamed ‘no’ while House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was making his bid to remove Omar from the committee.
In 2012, Omar claimed that “Israel has hypnotized the world,” and added, “may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”
In 2019, Omar insinuated that Jewish people were buying political support, commenting, “It’s all about the Benjamins, baby,”
She has also accused some Jewish Americans of having “allegiance to a foreign country,” called Israel an “apartheid state,” and included the U.S. and Israel with Hamas and the Taliban as political entities that have committed “unthinkable atrocities.”
However, in response to 9/11, the most significant terrorist attack on American soil, Omar commented, “Some people did something.”
The resolution was approved in a 218-211 vote.
The resolution says members of the Foreign Affairs Committee should be held to an “equal standard of conduct due to the international sensitivities and national security concerns under the jurisdiction of this committee.”
According to the resolution, “Representative Omar, by her own words, has disqualified herself from serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, a panel that is viewed by nations around the world as speaking for Congress on matters of international importance and national security.”
