Kamala Harris may not hold ALL truths in the Declaration of Independence to be self-evident.
In a speech marking the 50th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that granted nationwide access to abortion, Kamala quoted the Declaration of Independence. Only, she omitted a key part of the quote.
The widely known original text reads: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
However, Kamala’s version omitted the word “life” from the quote.
“We collectively believe and know, America is a promise. … It is a promise of freedom and liberty, not just some but for all. We are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” Harris said Sunday.
Twitter users were quick to slam Harris for the obvious omission, blasting her for attempting to “rewrite history.”
Others noted that Harris also omitted “Creator” from the quote.
Life News tweeted, “Kamala Harris omitting the “right to Life” from the Declaration of Independence is an acknowledgement that abortion denies unborn babies their right to life.”
Daily Beast senior columnist Matt Lewis wrote, “Kamala Harris says that, according to the Declaration of Independence, “we are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” (***She leaves out the key words “by our Creator” and ‘the right to life.’)”

Even Nile Gardiner, former aide to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, commented on the omission, tweeting, “Kamala Harris clearly does not believe in the ‘right to life.'”

Harris had made a calculated appearance in Florida to tout a presidential memorandum by Joe Biden that will further protect access to medication abortion by ensuring doctors can prescribe and dispense it across the United States.
On Sunday, Biden and the White House put out a number of tweets attacking Republicans over the issue of abortion.
One of Biden’s tweets read, “Today should’ve been the 50th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Instead, MAGA Republican officials are waging a war on women’s right to make their own health care decisions. But this fight isn’t over.”
Republicans would agree with that tweet.
