Feminism began in 1919 when women were finally granted the right to vote. At first, the movement was innocent. Before they were given the right to vote, women were taking care of the household and and the children for their husbands, who were out working. Christian women didn’t have a problem with that rule. There were a few women who wanted the right to vote and their voices being heard.
Over time, women did not have equal rights as men. Then, in 1963, the Equal Pay Act began due to the discrimination against women not having equal pay, even though they would have the same position as a man. That year’s president, John F. Kennedy, recognized the issue of unfair pay between both genders. So, on June 10, of 1963, he signed the Equal Pay Act to take a step forward in gender equality. Then, in 1978, women began to protest for the right to protect pregnant women in the workforce.
As the years passed, feminism began to change for the worst. Women are turning feminism into a women’s empowerment movement. Feminism doesn’t mean downgrading the masculinity of men. Instead, the movement means that both genders should be equal. Link posted here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXk7I_KUj4Q/. Nina Gibson, in the video, speaks on how feminism is becoming worse; she isn’t wrong.
Once women started to receive sympathy from men and women, the movement grew. Now, women demand higher power than men, higher wages, and more control. In Biblical terms, the man is supposed to be the head of the household; it says in Genesis 3:16: “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” In a Christian household, It is known that we are to have our husbands the head of the household.
It is right to want equality for voting. Every legal citizen in this country should have the right to vote. That is the one law I agree with. However, I’m afraid I have to disagree with degrading men’s position in our world. Men were meant to protect us, women. Men were meant to do the hard work. How often do you see a woman working on the power lines? How often do you see women in the construction field? Yes, there are some, but primarily men work in those fields.
Another topic relating to feminism is how women act now versus how they did back in the early 1900s. Back then, women would wear long dresses, more excellent shoes, hats, and gloves. They would have manners and class when going out in public. They would have manners and style even inside their own homes. What changed that? Feminism. Women began to believe they had the right to act however they wanted.
What I see now is unbelievable. Women are cussing out other women, controlling the man in lustful ways, and demanding more power because they believe to be victims. Especially when it comes to pregnancy, a woman thinks she can do as she pleases when pregnant because she has the “right” to. It saddens me how women have changed in such a short period. One of the main changes I have noticed as well is how a woman dresses.
Women dress proactively and believe it is okay. They believe they have the right to expose their bodies like objects, then have the audacity to complain to the world about how they are not objects. Clothes are one of the main ways to tell the type of person you are. Dressing like a harlot will either show women’s insecurities or how powerful they believe they are. What’s sad is how many men support women acting and dressing like that. This world has fallen into a lustful pattern.
Being a feminist is something I can never do. As a woman, I believe men should run the household, just as the Bible states. When you truly love someone, making those sacrifices are easy. I understand the right to want to vote. I will also have to disagree with equal pay as a man. If you do the work of a man, then yes. But if you are working at the front desk of a construction site while the men are outside doing the labor, the pay should equal the skill of the person.
Not everything has to be equal. People in this generation believe that all actions have to have equal consequences. In reality, that is not the case. What needs to change in this world is coming to accept what is given and what is right. Women are not the same as a man. Women were made differently than a man. People don’t seem to understand that fact. Feminism is a toxic movement that demasculinization of a man. That is not how God made the gender roles.
